THE LAND

Whether looking down a terrifyingly sublime cliff face or capturing a long-ruined wall dividing a landscape, Hoppé was gifted with the ability to tell passionate stories about the diversity of the Earth and humanity’s complex relationship with it.

A ride by night in unknown country even if there’s a brilliant moon seen at intervals through breaks in the forest, cannot be described. How shall one name shadows or interpret new sounds or indeed recall the infinite variety of fleeting impressions?

– E.O. Hoppé
